Bus Driver - East Brunswick, New Jersey

We are currently hiring a Bus Driver to transport school-age children from East Brunsick Public Schools to our childcare center. Hours are M-F from 11am-12pm and 3pm-4:15pm.

The Driver drives van to transport children to and from child care centers over specified routes according to time schedule as well as meets physical requirements and maintains mental alertness to safely operate a vehicle employed for the transportation of children.


Some of the major functions of the Van Driver include driving van from and to centers and specified pick-up sites according to an assigned schedule, while complying with local traffic regulations; assisting children as they enter/exit van; ensuring that all children are secured in an individual seat belt before engine is started; making sure all children are counted for; and possibly assisting teachers in supervising children as required.


Other functions include notifying Center Director if any vehicle maintenance is needed and completing the weekly van maintenance checklist as well as reporting unusual incidents, accidents, or delays to the Director or appropriate authorities, among other functions.

Requirements
•Must be 21 years of age and have a high school degree or GED as well as 5 years of driving experience.
•Must have no record of serious driving offenses (i.e. vehicular homicide, DWI) and no record of other moving violations in the last two (2) years.
•Must have a CDL ( B or C) with P (passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements
